back to topShannon Blake was born down the street, grew up in Kitchener, and moved to Toronto where she studied for five years at the University of Toronto, attaining both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English. During her undergrad years, Shannon participated in a number of productions as an actress, including “Dead By Friday”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “Captive Audience”, and “The Vagina Monologues”. She also wrote several plays including “The Sixth Verse of American Pie”, “Focused on the Family”, “Good Money”, and “An Angelic Christmas Play” which was produced in 2005 by the Screaming Monkeys. Shannon has been published twice in the Hart House Review, and remembers how good the shrimp was at the gala. Shannon currently works at The Evergreen Centre for Street Youth as a dropin worker and arts coordinator. She also does yoga and knits obsessively (not at the same time). “The Passages of Everett Manning” is her first full length production, and she couldn’t be more pleased to have it happen at Sanctuary.

back to topDoug owns and directs a Calgary design and advertising studio called Metrographics - his one-and-only job since graduating from art College in the 80's... which makes him both unusually focused, and increasingly ancient.
Doug is also an artist, having completed 20-something large-scale, public murals. The last few years Doug has spent painting a series of series. The first (2005) was a demanding 'painting-a-day' for the year, 2007 saw him complete a set of 52 self-portraits, published via email to all who were interested to see and read each week, and this year, Doug has begun to revisit the 12 apostles, intending to complete one a month.
back to topMy name is Jenna and I am in charge of making everyone look darling on stage (aka costume design). I grew up doing clowning, and mime with my family and was involved with costuming and make-up during my highschool theater years. I'm excited about this production because I see it as a venue to expose issues about homelessness that would otherwise be invisible to people outside of the social service sector. It's going to be hilarious and heartbreaking and I'm excited to be apart of an original production such as "The Passages of Everett Manning".
Hope to see you at the play! Its going to be terrific.
